It is one of the most common questions we are asked. Both Profhilo and dermal fillers are based on hyaluronic acid, a substance found naturally in skin — but they are designed to do very different jobs.
Dermal fillers: structure and volume
Fillers are firmer gels placed in specific areas to add support or definition — for example, restoring cheek volume or refining a jawline. They stay largely where they are placed, which is why precise, conservative technique matters. At Feonix, fillers are administered by GMC-registered doctors and nurses.
Profhilo: bio-remodelling and hydration
Profhilo is a very fluid skin booster designed to spread through the skin rather than add volume. It aims to improve hydration and skin quality across an area, which can help skin look firmer and more radiant. It is a course-based treatment, typically two sessions about a month apart, with maintenance thereafter.
So which one do you need?
If your concern is a specific area lacking support or definition, fillers are usually the conversation. If your concern is overall skin quality — laxity, dullness, fine crepiness — a skin booster like Profhilo may be more appropriate. Many people benefit from a combination over time.
The honest bit
Neither is a facelift, and neither result is permanent — both are gradually metabolised by the body. A consultation is the only reliable way to match the treatment to your face. Results vary and are not guaranteed.
