Over time the mid-face, which spans from the infra-orbital rim (beneath the eye) to the upper lip, loses volume due to the descent of fat pads.

This creates a sagging of the mid-face which in turn makes the nasolabial folds more prominent. Restoration of volume with the use of dermal fillers can create a ‘facelift’ effect as well as indirectly target both nasolabial folds and tear troughs (sunken eyes).
