WHAT IS BOTOX®?
Botox® (botulinum toxin type A) is a purified protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. In 1997, the FDA approved its usage in the cosmetic industry. Botox® can only be obtained by getting a prescription from a medical professional. It has been around for many years and it is extremely rare for serious side effects to occur.
WHAT DOES TREATMENT INVOLVE?
Botox® treatment involves the purified protein to be injected into specific points of the face based on any concerns you may have and what we would recommend for the best outcome. The procedure itself takes between 5 to 10 minutes and is virtually pain-free. We always puts an emphasis on patient safety and so you can be sure to be in the safest of hands.
WHAT TREATMENTS CAN BE DONE?
Botox® is very effective at treating fine lines and wrinkles. The most commonly treated areas are forehead lines, frown lines and crow’s feet.
Botox® can also be used to treat a variety of medical conditions such as axillary hyperhidrosis (excessive armpit sweating), chronic migraines and bruxism (teeth grinding).
WE DO NOT RECOMMEND HAVING BOTOX IF:
You have any muscle weakness disorders such as myasthenia gravis.
You have a known history of hypersensitivity to Botox®
You are pregnant or breast-feeding
